MingFruit Shop was founded in Hong Kong in 1990 and now has 11 chain stores specializing in the sale of imported fruits. It also supplies fruit products to commercial clients and statutory institutions. In 2003, it upgraded its image to promote a new shopping experience for global high-end fruits and provide diversified services such as gift fruit baskets, fresh fruit juice, fruit salad platters, and fruit finished products, etc.
We designed and developed a new retail application system for the client, that solves the pain points of a traditional fruit vendor and assists our client to develop a customized workflow for efficiency enhancement. It links the POS system to electronic scales and barcode printers, for which they allow frontline staff to easily record the sales of each fruit unit, hence greatly reducing labour costs.
Before merchandizing, the buyer can check the system backend report every day and adjust the purchase strategy in a timely manner. For instance, they can reduce the replenishment of fruits for those still with high inventory, and notify store staff to strengthen promotions of such SKUs, in order to avoid financial losses due to fresh fruits being deteriorated.
At the same time, the client’s management team can obtain real-time sales data, grasp the overview of operation and customer purchasing behaviour of each store, as well as quickly review the effectiveness of different promotion campaigns. Our system can help client to keep track of different sales goals and marketing activities more accurately and timely, which contribute to the company’s profitability in the long run.
